The Fifth Month

I couldn't update my blog in November as it was a very busy month due to festivals and birthdays. My baby who is right now 5 months and gonna turn 6 months in just three days from now is a BIG BOY :)
Fifth Month developments were crawling by his tummy, he also try to raise his knees ( I sometimes wonder how he knows the act). One funny thing that he does is raise himself on his hands and move his neck back and froth :D
He has become very chipku now and doesn't want me to leave his site even for a second... He also understands that BYE BYE means that somebody is going out of house so who so ever it may be my domestic help or a neighbor he is ready to leave with them as they bid him Good bye waving their hand. He sometimes makes a fuss also to move around in the house. As usual he likes to grab everything around and now a days tries his best to reach it by stretching his arms. he has also learnt how to make noise with a rattle ( i mean now he knows how to bang it in the air or on floor to create noise) He has started saying mummmmaaaa while crying and it started on 12th of November.
On 25th of November he fell off the bed for the first time and on 12th of December for the second time. It really hurts to see your baby crying in a loud pitch due to the hurt of a fall. I also cried with him both the times :(......
First time it was due to my negligence and second time my husbands... :(
We met Doctor for his Hepatitis B injection day before yesterday and he told us to start semi solids from 16th of this Month.
He has asked me to start with one thing and make him eat the same thing for at least 2 days at different intervals so that he develops a taste for it and then introduce the second thing...
I have to give water also from that day ( Doc said boil a glass of water for him in the morning and store in a bottle for which will enough for him for a day)
I am thrilled about his starting eating but scared too as i don't know how he would respond to it... will update about his eating in my next blog till then ba byeeeee

Full Circle... and Month 4

From Last October 2009 when I started blogging till today October 2010 ( a full circle) life has been a roller-coaster ride... last year I was bubbling with happiness and chirping like a bird as I was to be a mom and this year I am a MOM already rather a super MOM ( Abeer will agree to it am sure)... Its really fun to have a baby... his little accomplishments as he grows, day by day and month by month is such a fulfilling emotion that only a parent can understand....
My baby is now 4 months old and easily rolls over his tummy and back... every time he dose it in front of me I make sure to applaud for him to encourage him and my claps and hugs do get a wide smile on his cute little face...
Now my little wonder recognizes me and my husband very well. As he returns from work he is welcomed with cycling kicks and hand tabs on the mat by my baby (and of course a kiss from me). Bonding between parents and display of affection in front of the babies is very essential I personally feel... it bonds the family well.
As the winters are onset I have started giving my baby an extra layer of clothing and pyjamas or tights for the legs. As he has started urinating quite often so I have to change is dippers at a regular 2 - 3 hours difference.
At four months his process of teething has probably started as he grabs on everything (even my mobile) and wants to chew it hard... I have got him silicon teethers or gum smoothers which keep him busy.
After roll overs on his tummy he has also started raising his chest with support of his hands like mini push ups... and he also goes round and round on his tummy easily by now...

bye till next month...

Month One, Two & Three

Its been three months I could pullout time to update my blog.... I think its enough to understand that how much it takes in terms of time also to raise a kid... I will separate all the three months in this part of my blog to cover up

Month One
My little one was still tiny then... he smiled but occasionally and am sure it was not our talks or cuddles that amused him but something going on in his own mind.
Me and my husband are sooo lucky to get a sweet and calm baby like Abeer. He has never been a a cry baby and is a sound sleeper at night. One thing that troubled us and him almost since his birth was RED rashes on his hips at the anus area. As per doctor his intolerance to lactose (Lactose is present in Mothers Milk) made his potty acidic. These were gone once I started giving him ISOMIL - lactose free milk's 2 feeds in a day when he was 2 months old. His potty before I started giving him bottled milk was loose, bright yellow and frequency in day was 4-5 times. After ISMOIL in second month it became once in a day early morning. During his first month I once suffered from cough, cold and fever and he also got it from me but only the fever. We gave him Crocin drops 2 times in a day for a day after doctors advice and he was fine.

Month Two
The tiny one was now little grown up and his smiles also became often... the thighs now with regular massages looked plump. My son caught severe cough and cold when he was 2 and a half, we had to nebulize him and gave him steam alternately as per doctors advice. Watching him in body pain due to fever (he moaned while sleeping) and coughing with a khur-khur sound was terrible. He got bronchitis which takes 7 days to recover no medicine practically works during this time but yet kids are provided with them probably to stop the infection to grow. I did some home remedies too like warm mustard oil massage on the chest, pouring warm water on his chest while giving him bath, patting his back while he coughs to make the cough go down his food pipe etc.
During second month his head movement became little controlled and his cycling kicks hard and rigorous. See him kicking and squealing in joy is JUST AMAZING.

Third Month
My Baby today is 3 months and 11 days old. He now recognizes me and my husband very well, he smiles back at our every smile and sometimes show tantrums when we lay him down on the bed from our lap. Now he knows very well that i am the one who provides him with his staple so he turns towards me as soon as i lay down beside him. He has started turning and tossing side ways... roll overs are rare but he is still unable to free his arms when he turns on tummy. He now can join his hands and take them in his mouth, grip is also there he holds his rattles or my hand firmly now.
For past three four days he wasn't passing stool which is absolutely normal as per doctor till baby is on mother's milk. But as yesterday was the fourth day I inserted a glycerin bud dulcolax for children 5mg and he cleared his tummy. Alternately what I do is put lots of soap on piece of cotton and insert it in his hips which also make him pass stool.

My Bundle of JOY - A baby BOY

Sorrrrrrry for such a late post... but the reason is forgivable as am a Mother of a cute little wonder... I was blessed with a baby boy bang on my Due Date 16th June 2010
As I never got the natural pains my Doc started to induce pains from 15th of June morning 9:30...
Inducing was done by inserting little tablets inside my vagina. I went through 5 inductions in total till the real drama began...
I was almost fine till night almost having a negligible pain and only 1 cm opened cervix... At 11:30 the pain started reaching the bracket of 40 to 50 (this is measured by a machine attached with a belt to your tummy) and the doc said the cervix will start opening fast when the pain will reach 100 or above...
Around 2:30 when my waters broke the pain was unbearable... though its difficult to define the pain but it was for sure somewhere in my back may the hip bone....and was sooo sooo sooo acute that i cant put it in words.
I pucked, screamed, begged for a C section and epidural but as the anesthetist was not available I was left in the pain till 8:30...
Around morning 8:30 the cervix was 4cms open... and around 8:45 something I was given an epidural.... I remember very less after that as I slept after an epidural for 2 hours...
Around 10:30 cervix was full 10 cms dilated I was taken to the labour room an 11:00 I was a MOM...
The Labour room process was easy for me as I was on epidural and couldn't feel anything below my back... they asked me to push and here he was....

It was a journey I can never forget... the pain I can never ever forget... and a moment of joy I can never forget....
'Now more to come about my baby's growing up... so wait and read........:D

The WAITING game...

Ever since we planned to have a kid it has been an amazing WAITING game. Right from WAITING for conception to happen, to WAITING for the positive preggo results, to see the ultra sounds, to WAIT and see every week and month go fine and now finally in the last days WAITING for that BIG day to arrive. WAITING has been an integral part of my pregnancy and I am sure is the case with others too. Today its 14th and my EDD is 16th of June, 2 days to go and there are no signs of the baby coming out.
On Saturday visit to my doc she did an internal examination and told me that cervix is closed and has asked me to see her on 15th.( The internal examination where she inserted here fingers inside was uncomfortable but not at all painful.
I think she will give me a membrane sweep tomorrow so that the pain comes naturally or she might like to induce the pain all depends on her let us see...)
I am all set as now the WAITING is killing me..... I am dying to hold my bundle of joy in my arms and dying to see the face so unfamiliar yet so familiar.
This is probably the only time in a women's life when she longs for the pains to begin... so am I... WAITING for the twinge, pangs, uneasiness, pains..... in short contractions and all that, that will get me close to that moment of joy. WWWWWAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG

Full Bloom

The 9th Month the full bloom period of my entire Pregnancy has been the toughest. As the baby falls in your pelvis with all its weight your pelvic muscles start aching like anything... Getting up from bed, moving around and even tossing and turning on the bed also becomes soooo difficult that you almost start praying to god for an early arrival of the baby so that this period ends soon.
Its 30th of May today almost two more weeks to go... I wish the baby decides to come little early :)
Now I am paying weekly visits to my doctor and as per her I will deliver the baby way before the due date as the lil one has engaged its head in my pelvis ( in the cervix and waiting it to open now)
A feeling I would like to share which I am sure everybody faces is that everyday for me now comes with a may be factor... may be today ( shayad aaj ) and goes away when I enter a sound sleep at night. You become so eager to meet the new one that almost all the time you keep thinking about the baby.

.... will now be here again with the baby by my side WISH ME LUCK!!
All fingers crossed...............

8th Month

I started with my 8th month early this month 9th of April... Everybody warned me that the most crucial month of the entire pregnancy period is here. So i should take it easy.
I went through a growth scan in my 32nd week as I was feeling that my tummy was not as huge as others have in 8th month. To relieve my doubts doctor prescribed a "Baby well being scan". The growth of the baby as per the scan was normal but she measured 21cms of Amino Fluid in my womb. The measure should be not more than 25cms. I was asked to perform a glucose test to check if I am diabetic. Luckily the result was negative. And I still have to ask the docter in my next visit that what else could be the reason of high Amino fluid. The research on Internet says that the Amino fluid in the womb is max till 34th week and after 34th week it gradually starts reducing. The Scan also showed the cephalic position of the child in the womb.
As the due date is approaching I am thrilled, excited and nervous too. Hope everything goes fine. Sometimes the anxiety rises so much that I even think " will I be able to come alive out of all this" ha ha ha.... Lets cross our fingers...
I am gonna start with my final month next week and as its said from 9th month onwards its any time...and and pardon me but i can't complete the sentence.... I am lost with my words...
Will update next month if my baby still decides to come out around its due date only..... :)

The tiresome third trimester

All my energy levels which were high during the first two trimesters are slowly fading... I have been coping up with sever leg cramps, pain and a mild ache in my vaginal muscles. I went up to the doctor but haven't got any satisfactory answer. After research on internet I have discovered many women face it during this phase as the baby gains weight rapidly during this time and puts pressure on the uterus.
The stinky urine of mine was some urine infection for which i was on antibiotics and regular cleaning sessions with betadine. Pussaries (Medicine to be inserted in the vaginal canal) were also prescribed.
The Movements are sharp and my husband can also feel them by now. The Baby is most active during the nights... All the best to me as I have heard that baby's sleeping pattern starts in the womb :)....

Slowly as the time is nearing I am getting all excited for the new member in our life. The life of a couple definitely changes drastically after the new one.
Let us see what is in store for me in following two and a half months crossing my fingers....

Level two Scan or Anomaly Scan at Week 20

After the triple marker test's 1:3400 result ( considered negative) I was asked by the Fetal Medicine specialist to go through a detailed scan called Level 2 Scan or Anomaly Scan during my 20th week. ( just like that... just to be supper sure that everything is fine with the baby and its growth is normal)
Last week was my 20th Week so I went for one... it was nothing but a detailed scan of each and every organ and part of the my child. Right from fingers count to healthy functioning of heart was checked in the scan. I heard my baby's heart beat this time it seemed like a tick-tock of a clock but was quite fast. I also heard the sound of the blood flow it sounds like a sound of a windy storm.
As the fetal's body is still quite transparent my husband and I could see the heart beating also one the LCD. :-D
I will be turning 21weeks tomorrow and recent development for me is I have been feeling the movements of my little one now. They are very mild and I feel them only when I lay down on the bed quietly. The feeling of a baby movement ( also called quickening) is the most exciting time of your pregnancy ( I personally feel so ). To understand how it exactly feels all I can explain is fill air in your cheeks and now shift it from one side to another. If you will lift your top to see the movement you will see your stomach rising from that particular area. Cute experience it is...

Cost of Anomaly Scan at Moolchand New Delhi : Rs.1300
